Interim People Services Advisor (ER) – 4-Month FTC

Are you an experienced HR Advisor with strong Employee Relations expertise who can hit the ground running?An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a supportive People Services team on an interim basis, providing high-quality, proactive ER advice across the organisation.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working closely with managers, and is confident managing a varied ER caseload from end to end.
The Role
As the Interim People Services Advisor (ER), you will provide hands-on, practical employee relations support, acting as the first point of contact for managers on all ER matters. Your day will be varied, and you’ll play a key role in ensuring cases are managed effectively, consistently, and in line with policy and employment legislation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing clear, confident advice and guidance to managers on a range of ER matters
- Supporting and attending investigations
- Managing sickness absence processes and supporting managers with absence reviews
- Overseeing probation reviews and action planning
- Providing advice on performance management
- Handling grievances and disciplinaries, including attending hearings
- Supporting managers during formal meetings and hearings
- Note-taking at formal meetings
- Drafting outcome letters and formal documentation
- Managing MAT/PAT processes
- Handling flexible working requests from end to end
About You
You’ll be an experienced HR/People Advisor with strong exposure to employee relations and a solid understanding of UK employment legislation. You’ll be confident advising managers at all levels, comfortable managing several cases simultaneously, and able to work independently while still being a strong team player.
What you bring:
- Experience managing a wide range of ER cases (disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, capability)
- Ability to confidently coach and guide managers
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Clear written communication and excellent note-taking abilities
- Proactive approach and the ability to work at pace
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience) preferred but not essential
