A well-established organisation within the transport sector is seeking an experienced HR Officer to join their team on a temporary contract for an initial 3 months, with potential for extension.
This role requires a confident HR professional with strong Employee Relations (ER) experience who can provide pragmatic, employment-law-focused advice in a fast-paced operational environment.
The Role
Reporting into the HR team, you will play a key role in supporting managers and employees across a broad range of HR and ER matters. Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing first-line and escalated HR advice to managers and employees
- Managing a varied caseload of Employee Relations issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance concerns
- Supporting investigations, hearings, and outcomes in line with company policy and employment legislation
- Advising on employment law, ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice
- Supporting the application and interpretation of HR policies and procedures
- Assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and wider HR administration as required
- Maintaining accurate HR records and documentation
About You
- Proven experience in a generalist HR role with a strong focus on Employee Relations
- Solid working knowledge of UK employment law
- Confident advising managers on complex and sensitive ER matters
- Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
- Able to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
Contract Details
- Contract: Temporary – 3 months +
- Salary: £31,000 per annum (equivalent)
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Working pattern: 9am–5pm with flexibility
- Start date: ASAP
