Employee Relations Advisor

We are seeking an Employee Relations Advisor to provide a high-quality, proactive, and customer-focused HR advisory and operational service. This role supports and advises managers across the employee lifecycle in line with HR policies and procedures and undertakes HR projects under the ER Manager.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Act as the first point of contact for Employee Relations queries, providing timely, accurate first-line advice to managers and employees.
- Triage cases to determine appropriate handling and escalation pathways.
- Work with Senior ER Advisors to support the development of line management capacity.
- Provide expert advice on the application of the Library policy and procedures and Employee Relations matters.
- Manage own ER casework, giving appropriate first-line advice and assistance.
- Liaise with Occupational Health services and establish effective working relationships with managers and Union representatives.
- Carry out exit interviews and interpret trends from data/information, reporting to the HR Business Partner as necessary.
- Attend and actively contribute to weekly Case Management Discussion (CMD) meetings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Part-qualified membership status of the CIPD or willingness to work towards it.
- Demonstrable experience in a HR department providing generalist operational and advisory HR support.
- Experience of managing a high volume and demanding workload and working to tight deadlines.
- Proven ability to establish credibility, impact, and influence with a flexible approach to work.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive matters.
