People Officer (Temporary Ongoing)

Are you an experienced HR generalist who would like work for a childhood development charity?
My client is looking to recruit People Officer on an ongoing temporary basis, offering flexibility and the opportunity to make a real impact while they recruit permanently.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative People function during a period of growth and development, supporting day-to-day HR operations.
The Role
You’ll act as a key point of contact for employees and managers, while helping to embed HR processes and improve the overall employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for HR queries, providing advice and guidance to staff and managers
- Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, changes and leavers
- Assist with recruitment processes, ensuring consistency and a positive candidate experience
- Support and refine onboarding and induction processes
- Maintain accurate HR records, including absence, training and employee data
- Assist with the development and updating of HR policies and procedures
- Work closely with internal teams to improve communications and engagement
- Support payroll and benefits administration alongside finance where required
- Help identify and implement continuous improvements across HR processes
- Build strong relationships across the organisation to understand and support evolving needs
About You
- Proven experience in a generalist HR role or within a People team
- Strong understanding of core HR processes and best practice
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with a willingness to learn and develop
- CIPD qualification (or working towards) is desirable
Working Pattern & Flexibility
- Hybrid working – 1 day per week onsite in Victoria, remainder remote
- Part-time and full-time applications welcomed
- Ongoing temporary assignment
