CTR Select is recruiting on behalf of a prestigious organisation for an experienced Human Resources Officer to join a busy HR Operations team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys delivering high-quality operational HR support, providing expert advice to managers, and leading a small team. You'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of HR services across the full employee lifecycle while supporting continuous improvement and compliance with employment legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional HR advice to managers and employees on policies, procedures and employment legislation.
- Support employee relations matters, escalating complex cases where appropriate.
- Manage end-to-end HR administration across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, contractual changes and leavers.
- Ensure accurate HR and payroll data management.
- Oversee recruitment administration, pre-employment checks and Right to Work compliance.
- Ensure compliance with UKVI immigration and sponsorship requirements.
- Supervise, coach and develop HR Assistants, managing workload allocation and performance.
- Build strong working relationships across the organisation and with key stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of HR policies, processes and systems.
- Support reward and benefits administration, including promotions, probation, grading changes and employee benefits.
- Deliver HR training and guidance to managers and colleagues.
Skills and Experience:
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
- CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent HR experience.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience advising managers on a broad range of HR matters.
- Good understanding of UKVI Right to Work and sponsorship regulations.
- Previous experience supervising or leading an HR team.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High levels of accuracy, professionalism and confidentiality.
- Excellent IT skills with experience using HR and payroll systems.
Desirable experience:
- Experience within Higher Education or another complex organisation.
- Knowledge of job evaluation methodologies such as HERA or HAY.
- Experience with ResourceLink HR & Payroll.
- Experience supporting organisational change and HR systems implementation.
