We're seeking an ambitious and proactive EHS Officer to join a growing Environment, Health & Safety function within a leading manufacturing environment.
This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to make a real impact across a busy site of approximately 200 employees. Working closely with senior HSE leadership, you'll play a key role in embedding a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance, and championing continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, policies and procedures.
- Conducting workplace inspections, audits, safety observations and risk assessments.
- Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.
- Coordinating health and safety training, inductions and awareness initiatives.
- Maintaining EHS records, reports, compliance documentation and KPI data.
- Supporting emergency preparedness, occupational health and fire safety programmes.
- Monitoring contractor and employee compliance with safe systems of work.
- Promoting a positive, proactive and engaging safety culture across the site.
- Assisting with environmental and sustainability initiatives.
- Contributing to continuous improvement projects focused on health, safety and environmental performance.
About the Environment
You'll be working within a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing facility operating 24/7, supporting approximately 200 employees.
Key operational areas include:
- Manufacturing machinery
- Spray shop operations
- X-ray inspection activities
- Pedestrian walkways
- Moving mechanical equipment and machinery
This is a highly visible role with a strong shop-floor presence, partnering closely with production, engineering and operational teams to ensure safety remains at the heart of everything they do.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH qualification or equivalent.
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and risk assessment processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable
- Knowledge of ISO 14001.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001.
- Knowledge of ISO 50001.
- Experience supporting environmental compliance or sustainability programmes.
