URGENT - TEMPORARY PEOPLE TEAM MANAGER – PART-TIME
Location: Redhill & South Croydon
Rate: £32.00 per hour
Duration: Approximately 6 weeks

Hours: 3 days per week – flexible, to be agreed | 8:45am – 5:00pm
DBS: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service desirable
The Opportunity
We are urgently seeking an experienced and confident People Team Manager to join a busy and collaborative organisation across their Redhill and South Croydon sites on a temporary basis for approximately 6 weeks.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished HR professional who can quickly step into a senior role, provide immediate support and take ownership of a busy People function. Working closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders, you will provide expert HR guidance across the employee lifecycle, manage complex employee relations matters and lead a team of HR professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support and manage a team of HR professionals, ensuring a high-quality People service.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence and performance matters.
- Manage complex and sensitive HR casework.
- Partner with managers and senior leaders, providing pragmatic and commercially focused HR advice.
- Support organisational change, restructures and consultation processes.
- Drive attendance management and employee wellbeing initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, HR policies and best practice.
- Maintain accurate employee records and contracts.
- Monitor people data and workforce trends, identifying areas for improvement.
- Work collaboratively with Payroll, Recruitment, Learning & Development and other key stakeholders.
- Act as a senior HR point of contact, providing operational leadership and support during the temporary assignment.
About You
We are looking for an experienced HR professional who can hit the ground running and confidently take ownership of a senior HR role. Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience as a People Team Manager, HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor or HR Manager.
- Strong employee relations and case management experience.
- Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Previous experience leading, supervising or managing HR teams.
- Experience supporting organisational change, restructures and consultations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, practical and hands-on approach.
- CIPD qualification is desirable.
Experience within an FE College, education setting or similar environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
