Learning & Development Manager
Permanent | Full-Time | Office-Based | Central London
We’re partnering with a highly successful and growing consultancy in central London to recruit a Learning & Development Manager on a permanent basis.
This is a hands-on and varied role for a learning & development professional who enjoys working closely with people, is confident engaging with senior stakeholders and line managers, and can bring structure and momentum to the Learning & Development agenda.
A key focus will be raising the profile of Learning & Development across the business, working directly with line managers to understand development needs, build engagement and ensure learning is effectively delivered and embedded. You’ll also work closely with Learning & development suppliers and support the coordination of the organisation’s apprenticeship scheme.
There is also a strong strategic element to the role. As the business continues to grow, you’ll play an important part in shaping the future of L&D and developing a longer-term strategy beyond 2027.
You’ll have a broad remit across the Learning & Development function, including:
- Taking ownership of the day-to-day coordination and delivery of learning activity across the business.
- Working closely with line managers to identify development needs and ensure they make effective use of the L&D offering.
- Building awareness and engagement around L&D and increasing its visibility across the organisation.
- Coordinating a range of learning solutions, including workshops, coaching, external training and on-the-job development.
- Supporting managers with employee development, career progression and future capability.
- Identifying skills and capability gaps and turning these into practical development initiatives.
- Managing the training calendar, external suppliers, budget and related administration.
- Supporting the organisation’s apprenticeship scheme and ensuring programmes are effectively coordinated.
- Maintaining accurate learning records and ensuring relevant compliance requirements are met.
- Producing and analysing L&D reports and data to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Developing learning pathways, frameworks and processes as the business evolves.
- Playing a key role in shaping and implementing the long-term L&D strategy beyond 2027.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Previous experience working within a Learning & Development environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work directly with line managers and senior colleagues.
- The ability to influence, engage and communicate the value of Learning & Development effectively.
- Excellent coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A highly organised and meticulous approach, with strong attention to detail.
- Experience designing and delivering learning initiatives.
- Strong communication, facilitation and coaching skills.
- The ability to identify development needs and translate these into appropriate learning solutions.
- Experience or a good working knowledge of apprenticeship schemes.
- A strategic mindset and the ability to contribute to longer-term L&D planning.
- A CIPD qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
Why this role?
This is an opportunity to join a successful and growing organisation at an exciting stage of its development, where L&D is being given real focus and investment.
You’ll have the opportunity to build the profile of L&D internally, work closely with managers, bring greater structure to learning and development, and help shape the longer-term strategy as the business continues to grow.
