Office & HR Coordinator
SW1, Central London
£35,000 per annum DOE
Permanent | Full-time | Office-based
Monday–Friday, 9.15am–5.45pm
We are recruiting an experienced Office & HR Coordinator to join our client, a private office in SW1.
This is not a purely HR role or a traditional general administration position. We are looking for an experienced all-round office professional with solid, hands-on HR administration experience who is confident taking ownership and working independently.
Reporting to the Head of HR, you'll support HR administration across the employee lifecycle while playing an important role in the smooth day-to-day running of the office.
We're looking for someone proactive, personable, computer savvy and resilient – the sort of person who spots what needs doing and gets on with it.
What will you be doing?
- HR Administration
- Drafting contracts and employment documentation
- Supporting references and background checks
- Coordinating onboarding, inductions and probation reviews
- Maintaining HR and time & attendance systems
- Monitoring absence and producing reports
- Supporting monthly, fortnightly and seasonal payroll administration
- Pension auto-enrolment and benefits administration
- Joiner and leaver administration
- Supporting disciplinary and grievance processes
- Health & Safety administration
- Coordinating staff training and producing HR reports
Office Administration & Coordination
- Acting as a key point of contact for day-to-day office matters
- Taking ownership of general office administration
- Providing basic IT support and troubleshooting
- Providing PA/secretarial and Reception cover when required
- Liaising with external suppliers and the archive provider
- Coordinating staff events, including the annual Christmas party
- Identifying outstanding tasks and ensuring they are followed through
About You
You'll have strong all-round administration experience gained within a commercial/private-sector business environment, including genuine hands-on HR administration.
We're particularly looking for someone who:
- Is proactive, self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership
- Has practical experience of HR processes such as contracts, onboarding, payroll support, employee records and benefits
- Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Is confident with technology, systems and Microsoft Office
- Communicates clearly and confidently with people of different ages, backgrounds, seniority levels and personalities
- Is resilient, adaptable and not easily fazed by challenging or unexpected situations
- Can manage competing priorities and work independently
- Uses initiative during quieter periods rather than waiting for work to be delegated
- Is discreet and professional when handling confidential information
CIPD is not essential – strong, relevant hands-on experience is more important.
This role is unlikely to suit someone seeking a purely HR/recruitment-focused position, or someone whose experience has primarily involved completing administrative tasks delegated by others.
What's on Offer?
- £35,000 per annum DOE
- Five weeks' annual leave
- Contributory pension
- Discretionary Christmas bonus
- Excellent benefits package
- Stable, long-established organisation
- Friendly, supportive and sociable team
- Varied role with genuine responsibility and autonomy
This is a great opportunity for an experienced all-round office professional who enjoys variety, builds relationships easily and likes being the dependable person colleagues know they can turn to.
