An established and growing organisation is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join its HR team. This opportunity has arisen due to a planned maternity leave, and the business is looking to appoint someone who can ensure a smooth handover and provide ongoing HR support across the organisation.
Reporting initially to the Senior HR Manager, with future reporting lines into a newly appointed Head of HR, you will play a key role in supporting managers and employees across a dynamic operational environment. A strong background in Employee Relations is essential.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on generalist HR role offering exposure across the full employee lifecycle. The successful candidate will partner with managers to provide pragmatic HR advice, drive best practice, and support a positive employee experience. Whilst the role covers all aspects of HR, a significant focus will be on managing Employee Relations matters confidently and independently.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
- Manage a range of ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, capability, performance and investigations.
- Provide guidance to managers on employment law and HR best practice.
- Support employee wellbeing initiatives and promote a positive workplace culture.
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are applied fairly and consistently.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activity across the business.
- Support hiring managers with workforce planning and recruitment requirements.
- Manage onboarding and induction processes.
- Build strong relationships with external recruitment partners.
Learning & Development
- Identify training and development needs across the workforce.
- Coordinate training programmes and maintain learning records.
- Support succession planning and career development initiatives.
- Promote continuous learning and professional development.
HR Operations
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
- Support HR projects and organisational change activities.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for HR-related queries.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and commercially minded HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
You will have:
- Previous experience within a generalist HR role.
- Strong Employee Relations experience with the ability to manage casework autonomously.
- Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A confident, approachable and solutions-focused attitude.
- CIPD qualification or equivalent experience would be advantageous.
