Your new role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join a collaborative People Team in a broad and influential advisory position.
Reporting to the Head of HR, you will provide high-quality advice and support across the full employee lifecycle, partnering with managers to deliver consistent, legally compliant and commercially sound people solutions. Managing a varied employee relations caseload, you will advise on disciplinary, grievance, capability, attendance and other formal processes while coaching managers to resolve issues confidently and effectively.
In addition to employee relations, you will play a key role in recruitment and onboarding, advising managers on best practice attraction and selection methods whilst overseeing recruitment processes from advert to appointment. You will also support pay and benefits activities, job evaluation processes, payroll changes, pension administration and annual pay reviews.
The position offers genuine variety, with involvement in employee wellbeing initiatives, organisational development activities, learning and development programmes, HR compliance, people analytics and continuous improvement projects. You'll also provide day-to-day line management and development support to the People Administrator, making this an excellent step for someone looking to broaden their leadership experience
What you'll need to succeed
- CIPD Level 5 qualified, working towards qualification or equivalent HR experience.
- Proven experience providing HR advice and guidance directly to managers.
- Strong employee relations experience covering disciplinary, grievance, capability and attendance management.
- Sound knowledge of UK employment legislation and its practical application.
- Experience managing recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Previous experience coaching and supporting managers through people-related challenges.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- Experience producing professional reports and correspondence.
- Confident using HR systems and maintaining accurate employee records.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Previous line management or supervisory experience would be advantageous.
