School Business Manager
Location: LutonSalary: £49,282 - £52,413Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
FIXED TERM CONTRACT - 7-9 Month Contract with possible extension.
We are looking for an experienced School Business Manager to join the Senior Leadership Team and work closely with the Headteacher at a vibrant and well-established SEN secondary school in Luton. This is a key leadership role, responsible for the professional management of support staff and the efficient operation of school services, contributing to improved standards of learning and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all non-teaching support staff, including office administration, catering, and medical welfare teams.
- Oversee administration, facilities and property management, and health & safety compliance across the school.
- Act as the primary liaison between the school and the regional hub for Finance, HR, and ICT services.
- Participate in Senior Leadership Team meetings and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making.
- Manage financial resources effectively, including budgeting, monitoring, and reporting to ensure best value.
- Promote the school and manage pupil admissions, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification in finance, accounting, or business (School experience required).
- Degree-level education (or equivalent) is desirable.
- Proven experience in strategic business and financial management.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
- Proficiency in ICT systems to enhance school operations.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
