HR Administrator

Reed in Colchester are excited to be supporting our client seeking an individual eager to start their career in the HR profession. As an HR Administrator, you will provide first-class HR administration service across the full employee lifecycle, focusing on exceptional attention to detail and compliance with legislation. This role requires maintaining a high level of confidentiality at all times.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Produce and issue employment contracts and offer letters for new starters, and upload them to the HR system
- Maintain and monitor records of staff absence (sickness, holidays, maternity, etc.) and administer any pay adjustments as required
- Administer amendments to staff records and produce contractual letters, such as pay awards, transfers, and promotions
- Monitor and administer maternity/paternity requests and manage the process for leavers, addressing any pertinent issues like training debts and holiday entitlement
- Respond to reference requests and raise any administration inconsistencies or areas of concern with the HR Administration Manager
- Process probationary and career reports, inputting outcomes onto the HR system
- Proactively and continuously review processes, making recommendations to improve efficiency
- Maintain HR data and documentation to a high standard and produce basic HR reports
- Review changes to terms and conditions letters and make recommendations for changes
- Liaise with staff at various levels, providing guidance on day-to-day administration issues and basic policy queries
- Handle telephone enquiries and follow up as necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of administration experience
- Keen eye for detail
- Grade 4 or above in English & Maths GCSE (or equivalent)
- Some understanding of the legal consequences related to contractual documents
- Excellent IT skills, with accurate data inputting skills
- Ability to prioritise and work towards tight deadlines
- Strong team player with the ability to handle confidential information.
