Are you an experienced HR professional looking to make a real impact across a multi-site organisation? Central Trust is seeking a confident and proactive HR Advisor to join our collaborative team and play a key role in delivering a high-quality, people-focused HR service.
About the Role
As HR Advisor, you will take the lead on a wide range of employee relations matters while supporting HR colleagues and managers across the Trust. You’ll build strong working relationships, provide expert guidance, and contribute to the ongoing development of HR practices, policies, and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on a variety of employee relations cases
- Advise managers on HR matters including absence, flexible working, maternity/paternity
- Attend and advise in ER and management meetings
- Conduct investigations (disciplinary, grievance, etc.)
- Act as first escalation point for safeguarding and statutory checks
- Prepare employee correspondence, including T&Cs changes and pay updates
- Support recruitment and payroll processes
- Develop and deliver training for line managers
- Assist with reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures
- Produce HR reports, analyse trends, and make recommendations
- Promote the Trust brand with professionalism and consistency
Essential:
- CIPD Level 5 (minimum)
- Recent experience advising managers on ER matters (within the last 2 years)
- Strong knowledge of employment law
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Desirable:
- Experience in a centralised HR or multi-site setting
- Experience within the education sector or a vetted industry
- Payroll experience, ideally with graded pay scales
- Working towards CIPD Level 7
- Understanding of trade union processes
