OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on HR Manager to join an organisation at a pivotal stage of growth and integration following a recent acquisition. This role will combine ownership of day-to-day HR operations with involvement in wider integration activity, including aligning policies, systems and ways of working within a larger group structure.
This is a visible, operationally focused role, partnering closely with senior stakeholders and Heads of Department while supporting the HR Director on change and integration initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead day-to-day HR operations as Head of Department, ensuring a consistent and high-quality service to colleagues.
- Advise and coach Heads of Department on employee relations, performance management and attendance matters.
- Manage complex ER casework, including misconduct, capability and long-term absence cases.
- Lead and support change management activity, including restructures and consultation processes.
- Partner with Heads of Department to deliver effective, compliant recruitment processes.
- Deliver people manager training, coordinate organisational induction and work with departmental training champions to ensure mandatory training compliance.
- Oversee benefits administration, including monthly pension submissions.
- Provide direct line management to the HR Assistant, overseeing workload, priorities and development.
- Support the HR Director with post-acquisition integration activity.
Skills & Experience Required- CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience) with a strong generalist HR background.
- Proven experience managing complex employee relations cases and leading change initiatives.
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with the ability to assess and respond to complex business issues.
- Experience reviewing and improving HR systems, processes and ways of working.
Desirable:
- Experience within a healthcare or regulated environment.
- Familiarity with ADP systems.
- Exposure to TUPE processes and post-merger integrations.
