HR Business Partner
- Annual Salary: circa £55,000 annual salary, dependent on experience
- Location: West Bromwich as main site with roughly fortnightly travel to Daventry
- Job Type: Full-time
Our client is one of the UK’s largest independent manufacturers of speciality and fine organic chemicals, supplying industries such as pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, cosmetics, and polymers. They specialise in custom synthesis and contract manufacturing, offering complex chemical processes.
They are seeking an HR Business Partner to provide a comprehensive Human Resources service across our business. This role is crucial for managing and maintaining good employee relations, understanding business needs, and ensuring an appropriate people strategy is in place. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of employment law and experience in human resources management within a manufacturing environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Develop company and individual training plans and manage the department budget including recruitment and training.
- Ensure cost-effective training, recruitment, and succession planning to meet the company’s current and future needs.
- Authorise changes to payrolls and check payrolls after completion.
- Negotiate with trade unions on behalf of the company.
- Manage Payroll and Time & Attendance systems.
- Prepare contracts of employment and maintain training records.
- Conduct induction training for new employees and manage probation periods.
- Champion people-related policies and procedures.
- Manage Occupational Health provision in conjunction with the SHE department.
- Oversee the company recruitment and selection process to ensure an efficient hiring process in compliance with legislative requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of Employment, Pensions, and Pay legislation.
- CIPD Qualified Level 5 or higher.
- Experience in a similar HR management role within a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Significant experience in managing sensitive issues in line with business interests.
- Strong influencing and communication skills.
- Proficiency in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other standards.
- Competence in Maths and English Level 3 or higher.
- Understanding of interviewing techniques, learning and development strategies, and change management.
