HR Manager | Onsite 4 days | Hatfield | £60,000-£65,000
A fast-paced, operational international business within logistics is seeking a hands-on HR Manager to lead its people function across UK sites. With circa 300 employees, the organisation operates in a delivery-led environment where HR plays a key role in enabling performance, structure, and consistency across a busy operational workforce.
This is a full generalist HR leadership role, responsible for shaping the function, setting clear direction, and building capability within a small HR team.
You will take ownership of the end-to-end HR agenda for a multi-site operation, ensuring HR is proactive, structured, and adding tangible value. The role suits someone who is confident operating close to the business, influencing operational leaders, and strengthening core HR delivery in a hands-on environment. You will manage 2 HR Advisors
Key responsibilities
Lead and act as escalation point for complex ER casework
Oversee redundancy programmes and wider organisational change activity (essential)
Manage HR operations including policies, benefits, payroll coordination, and performance processes
Coach and develop operational managers to improve performance and capability
Build leadership capability within the HR team and strengthen overall HR maturity
Support inclusion and wellbeing initiatives, including employee networks
Improve and embed consistent, practical HR processes across the businessWhat we are looking for
Strong HR generalist background in operational, multi-site environments
Line management at HR advisor level
Confident handling complex employee relations casework
Experience leading or developing HR colleagues
Proven exposure to redundancy and organisational change
TUPE experience desirable
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
Practical, commercially aware HR leader who thrives in pace and complexityThis is a role with real ownership and visibility, offering the opportunity to shape and strengthen the HR function in a business where delivery and impact matter.
