The role of Pensions Specialist role will support the efficient setup and future development of HR Shared Services by delivering comprehensive LGPS pensions administration for employees, and supporting the transition of these activities into business-as-usual operations.

Description
- Develop and maintain clear, documented processes and guidance for LGPS administration, including pension quotes and HR Shared Services advice, ensuring alignment with external legislation and best practice
- Establish and document an effective handover process with the LGPS provider to support the timely management of pension quotes ahead of leaving dates
- Manage key stakeholders, providing regular updates on pensions and related processes
- Analyse and interpret pension and financial data to provide clear updates to employees on their scheme
- Provide regular performance updates to senior management, focusing on service delivery, SLAs and employee feedback
- Create and maintain guidance and tools to support accurate calculation and payment of LGPS pension benefits, ensuring they are user-friendly and support ongoing improvement
- Research and implement best practice to enhance processes, tools and training, supporting continuous improvement and long-term sustainability
Profile
A successful Pensions Specialist should have:
- Strong LGPS knowledge, including complex cases and end-to-end administration
- Experience managing LGPS portals, case records and ensuring data accuracy
- Ability to analyse, interpret and present pension/financial data
- Excellent attention to detail, with strong documentation and process improvement skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Customer-focused, with the ability to build relationships and manage expectations
- Team player with experience supporting and developing others on LGPS processes
Job Offer
- Hourly pay between £26.13 PAYE or £33.93 UMBRELLA.
- Hybrid working - set on-site days: Tuesday (definite) and Wednesday (preferred).
