We are seeking an experienced Learning & Development Manager to design and deliver a cohesive learning strategy that strengthens capability across the organisation. This strategic hire will build engaging, measurable learning experiences, embed a competency framework and work closely with senior leaders to close skills gaps. The role offers real influence over workforce development and the chance to drive long-term improvement in service quality.Key responsibilities will include:
- Design, develop and deliver blended learning programmes (classroom, virtual and e-learning) tailored to different roles and career stages.
- Produce clear, practical learning materials, guides and presentations that support everyday practice.
- Manage and maintain the organisation’s competency framework and lead training needs analysis in partnership with senior leaders and department heads.
- Coordinate induction and role-specific onboarding to ensure new starters are confident and compliant from day one.
- Schedule and administer training activities, monitor completion and maintain accurate training records.
- Evaluate learning impact through assessments, feedback and performance metrics; recommend improvements and report outcomes to leadership.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development across the workforce.
- Ensure training supports safe, person-centred practice and aligns with regulatory and quality expectations.
Essential skills & experience
- Proven experience designing, delivering and managing end-to-end learning programmes.
- Strong facilitation skills with confidence in presenting to diverse audiences.
- Practical knowledge of blended learning approaches and familiarity with e-learning/LMS platforms.
- Ability to conduct training needs analysis and map competency requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management, organisation and programme coordination skills.
- A commitment to promoting safe, person-centred services and continuous improvement.
Desirable skills & experience
- Professional L&D or HR qualification
- Experience working within healthcare or regulated environments.
- Familiarity with learning authoring tools and data-driven evaluation of learning impact.
- Train-the-trainer and coaching experience.
