Your new role
As HR Business Partner / Employee Relations, you will operate as a trusted adviser to Heads of Department and senior leaders, aligning people strategies with business objectives while taking ownership of complex and sensitive employee relations matters across the organisation.This is a hands-on HRBP role combining strategic business partnering with end-to-end ER case management. You will lead workplace investigations, support organisational change initiatives and ensure all employee relations activity is compliant with UK employment legislation and internal policy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing end-to-end disciplinary, grievance and appeal investigations, delivering thorough and timely outcomes
- Advising managers on disciplinary and grievance procedures in line with UK employment law
- Conducting factfinding investigations, interviews and evidence reviews, producing clear and well-reasoned reports
- Handling high-risk and complex ER cases, including misconduct, performance and regulatory matters
- Supporting organisational restructures, including consultation planning, selection criteria and individual consultations
- Partnering with leaders on workforce planning, performance management, organisational design and culture initiatives
- Supporting organisational change programmes, ensuring fairness and legal compliance
- Liaising with external counsel on employment tribunals, settlement agreements and regulatory matters where required
- Identifying ER trends and providing insight to HR leadership to inform policy and organisational improvements
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this HR Business Partner / ER role, you will:
- Have proven experience in an HRBP or senior ER role, managing complex employee relations cases end-to-end
- Demonstrate strong working knowledge of UK employment legislation
- Be confident advising senior stakeholders and Heads of Department
- Have experience supporting organisational change and restructuring programmes
- Be highly credible, resilient and comfortable operating in a regulated environment.
- Be able to balance strategic HR input with hands on ER delivery
- Bring excellent investigation, influencing and report writing skills
