About the Role
This is a key leadership role within SRL Traffic Systems, offering the opportunity to shape and deliver the people agenda in a growing, fast-paced operational business.
As HR Manager, you’ll lead the HR function, partnering with senior leaders to provide commercially focused advice while ensuring a consistent, high-quality HR service across all sites.
You’ll balancestrategic influence with day-to-day operational delivery, leading on complex employee relations, developing your team, and driving initiatives that improve engagement, performance, and retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and manage the HR team, ensuring a consistent and high-quality service
- Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders, providing pragmatic and commercially focused HR advice
- Lead on complex employee relations cases (disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance)
- Support workforce planning, organisational development and business change initiatives
- Coach and develop managers to strengthen leadership capability
- Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Ensure HR policies and processes are legally compliant and fit for purpose
- Work closely with recruitment to support hiring across the business
- Drive engagement, wellbeing and retention initiatives
- Use HR data and metrics to inform decision-making and identify trends
- Promote a strong health, safety and compliance culture across all sites
About You
- Proven experience in a senior HR generalist or HR Manager role within a multi-site or operational environment
- CIPD Level 7 qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law
- Experience leading and developing an HR team
- Confident handling complex and high-risk employee relations cases
- Able to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
- Commercially aware, pragmatic and solutions-focused
- Comfortable balancing strategic input with hands-on delivery
- Willing and able to travel regularly to Solihull and other sites
