About the Role
Reed are supporting an instantly recognisable Edinburgh based institution that have a fantastic name within their industry that is recognised on a National level. We are seeking a proactive and experienced HR Officer to join our Edinburgh based client. This role is responsible for the delivery of a wide range of HR Advisory and Administrative services to the business. This includes providing support to line managers, dealing with HR enquiries, and providing practical advice and guidance to ensure the client remains compliant with best practice and employment legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support HR Manager with providing competent HR guidance to colleagues, providing expert advice and skilled interpretation of policies and terms and conditions of employment.
- Support HR Manager with the review and updating of Employment Contract templates
- Provide HR guidance and note taking at a range of ER meetings e.g. attendance, disciplinary, grievance, capability with varying degrees of complexity.
- Assist managers with Occupational Health referrals and subsequent absence management procedures.
- Advise colleagues on all HR policies, wellbeing support and benefit schemes.
- Work with the HR Manager to identify training needs, develop and facilitate training session (including HR Policy Training), as well as embedding a culture of learning and feedback. Supporting the planning and development of learning and development initiatives in response to change initiatives.
- Support the HR Manager with a range of generalist HR projects, including projects linked to the delivery of the business plan.
- Contribute to the development of new policies and procedures and support the review of HR processes and policy, proactively making recommendations for continuous improvement and change.
- Collaborate with the HR Assistant and HR Administrator in relation to HR processes administration such as new starters and changes to employee terms and conditions and company medicals; as well as ensuring continuity of these processes during periods of absence (providing back-up cover).
- Support all managers with relevant people-related projects with a strong focus on continuous improvement
- Oversee the company internal transfer process and secondments, ensuring systems and employee data is relevant
- Support the management of HR and Learning mailboxes, responding to general enquiries or escalating to HR Manager
Requirements

Proven experience in an HR Officer role, ideally within a multi-site environment

Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to coach and influence stakeholders at all levels

Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities

Proficient in HR systems and data reporting

Full UK driver’s licence and access to a car (essential)
