Recruitment Optimisation Lead – NHS | £27.50 per hour | Hybrid (Surrey) | 6-month contract
Are you passionate about transforming recruitment processes and driving real workforce impact across the NHS? We’re seeking an experienced Recruitment Optimisation Lead to spearhead a key workstream within a major Workforce Optimisation Programme.
In this pivotal role, you will lead the redesign of the Trust’s end-to-end recruitment process—reducing time-to-hire, improving candidate and manager experience, increasing offer acceptance rates and helping to lower temporary staffing spend. You’ll analyse performance data, identify bottlenecks, and work collaboratively with HR, Resourcing and divisional teams to build sustainable pipelines for hard-to-fill roles.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading a Trust-wide recruitment optimisation programme
- Mapping current recruitment processes and identifying improvement opportunities
- Developing and delivering action plans to reduce time-to-hire
- Enhancing attraction strategies and supporting grow-your-own pathways
- Producing dashboards, project plans and benefits trackers
- Presenting progress and performance insights to senior leaders
What we’re looking for:
- Strong project management and NHS recruitment expertise (NHS Jobs, TRAC, ESR)
- Happy to travel on site c. 3 days per week
- Data-driven mindset with experience improving recruitment performance
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Experience delivering recruitment or resourcing improvement programmes within the NHS
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CIPD, project/change management)
Desirable: Lean/process improvement experience, employer branding knowledge, or exposure to international recruitment programmes.
