Established in 2008, Oyster Search & Selection specialise in recruiting HR professionals on behalf of a range of clients in Legal, Professional and Financial Services nationwide and internationally. We recruit in to roles for both HR Generalists and HR Specialists on a permanent and interim basis.
The Senior HR Advisor is part of our client's London HR advisory team and has a particular focus on supporting the London secretarial team. Working in partnership with the Secretarial Services Manager, the Senior HR Advisor supports the identification, management, and resolution of day-to-day HR issues within the London secretarial team, from recruitment, ongoing performance and development, through to offboarding.
Essential for success in this role is a collaborative approach, competent management and interpersonal skills as well as a strong generalist HR background either in a law firm or professional services environment. A solid understanding of employment legislation and its practical application is essential.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing day-to-day HR issues for the community of London Legal PA Co-ordinators, Management Team PAs, Legal EAs, Junior Legal PAs, and Legal PA apprentices.
- Coaching the Secretarial Services Manager and LPACs to build their line management capability and provide expert guidance on complex employee relations cases and advise on HR policies eg performance, conduct, absence and organisational change.
- Supporting the Employee Lifecycle eg Recruitment and Onboarding and the annual Salary Review.
- In partnership with the Secretarial Services Manager devise, implement and maintain a Professional Skills Frameworks, talent mapping, promotions pathways etc., for the Legal PAs, Legal EAs and Management PAs and EAs.
Candidates should have at least five years’ generalist HR experience at a similar level with exposure to administrative support teams, PAs and EAs and, ideally, a background in the Legal sector or Professional Services, together with the ability to quickly build positive relationships with, and influence and gain support from, a range of senior stakeholders.
