A well-regarded local authority is looking to appoint an experienced HR Advisor to join its supportive and collaborative Corporate HR team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys true advisory-level work and is confident managing complex employee relations matters within a busy, fast-paced environment.
Working as part of a close-knit HR function, you will provide dedicated support across key frontline services including Children & Young People and Community & Wellbeing, supporting approximately 700 employees across both directorates.
The RoleReporting into an HR Business Partner, you will work alongside an experienced HR team and partner closely with managers across the organisation, providing advice and guidance across the full employee lifecycle.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and advising on complex employee relations casework
- Supporting disciplinaries, hearings and investigations
- Coaching and advising managers on HR best practice
- Providing pragmatic and solutions-focused HR support
- Building strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organisation
This is a manager-facing advisory role, offering genuine exposure to higher-level HR activity rather than an administrative HR position.
About YouThe organisation is looking for someone with:
- Previous HR advisory experience
- Confidence managing complex casework independently
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- A proactive and collaborative approach
- Experience within local government or the wider public sector would be advantageous
Candidates who are currently heavily administration-focused or looking for a significant step-up may not be suitable for the level of exposure required in this role.
Working Arrangements- Full-time position
- Hybrid working model
- Majority of work carried out remotely via Teams
- Onsite attendance mainly required for hearings, disciplinaries and key meetings
- Applicants should live within reasonable travelling distance due to occasional short-notice onsite requirements
