HR Advisor - Temporary / Temp-to-FTC (Maternity Cover)

Salary: Circa £35,000
Contract: Temporary / Temp-to-Fixed Term

An established education organisation in Liverpool is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join their HR team on a temporary or temp-to-FTC basis to cover maternity leave.
This is a broad, operational HR role with a strong focus on employee relations, attendance management and casework, supporting HR Business Partners and line managers across the organisation.
The Role
Reporting into the HR team, you will provide professional and pragmatic HR support across the full employee lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:

Providing first-line HR advice to managers and employees

Managing sickness absence cases and attendance review meetings

Supporting disciplinary and grievance processes

Advising on contracts, probation, flexible working and family leave

Liaising with payroll and finance on pay-related queries

Supporting induction processes and HR systems

Maintaining accurate HR records and producing management information

Acting as a positive ambassador for the HR function
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Proven experience in an HR Advisor or generalist HR role

Strong working knowledge of UK employment law

Hands-on experience managing sickness absence and ER casework

Confidence supporting disciplinary and grievance processes

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
-
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
A relevant HR qualification or equivalent practical experience is required.
