This is an EMEA/Global Pensions Specialist based in Canary Wharf An exciting opportunity for an experienced pensions professional to join a global organisation supporting the governance, administration, and strategic development of pension and retirement programmes across multiple international regions. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring pension arrangements operate effectively, remain compliant with regulatory requirements, and align with broader people and reward strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Support the governance and administration of global pension and retirement benefit programmes across the UK, Europe, APAC, and other international regions.
- Ensure pension schemes operate in compliance with regulatory, legislative, tax, and internal governance requirements.
- Partner with HR, Finance, Legal, Risk, and external providers to support pension operations and strategic initiatives.
- Prepare governance materials, committee papers, reporting, and risk documentation for pension trustee and governance meetings.
- Monitor legislative and market developments impacting pensions and retirement benefits and recommend appropriate actions.
- Support delivery of pension-related projects including harmonisation activities, benefit changes, process improvements, and transformation initiatives.
- Analyse pension data, operational performance, and scheme metrics to support informed decision-making.
- Manage relationships with third-party administrators, actuaries, consultants, and investment providers to ensure high service standards.
- Provide technical pensions guidance and support to internal stakeholders and employees where required.
- Contribute to risk and controls activities, ensuring alignment with internal governance frameworks and regulatory obligations.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong experience within pensions, employee benefits, or retirement governance within financial services or a large corporate environment.
- Extensive understanding of UK pension legislation and governance frameworks, including Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) schemes.
- Knowledge of international pensions and benefits arrangements would be advantageous.
- Experience managing pension projects, regulatory change, and third-party supplier relationships.
- Strong analytical skills with experience handling pension data and reporting.
- Ability to interpret technical pension legislation and communicate complex information clearly to a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience operating within risk and control frameworks in a regulated environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced, matrix environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- APMI qualification or equivalent pensions qualification preferred.
- Experience within banking, financial services, or multinational organisations desirable.
- Knowledge of pension governance and regulatory requirements advantageous.
